I'm no FOOL!!!
What a great April Fool's Day - it was announced today that I am on the Design Team for the wonderful Aussie Pub Calls site .... and it wasn't a joke! I am so happy to be part of Sine's wonderful site, and really looking forward to sharing my layouts with everyone. Come on over and have a look at the great offers that are available through the site.

Life goes on and on and on ....
Life seems to be so busy at the moment that unfortuanetly my scrapping, and creative outlet, has taken a back seat. The twins have started playing club sports, so that means twice a week i need to run them around to training. Naturally, they couldn't agree to play the same sport ..oh no, DS4 has gone for soccer (sorry, football) and DS5 is in for AFL. I have no idea where these passions came from, certainly not me ... and we arent close enough to relatives to absorb the inlaws Italian soccer fever, but there we have it. Goodbye to afternoons in front of the telly (as if!) and Saturday morning sleep-ins!
Other news on the front is that work delivered me a pretty yucky blow this week. My secondment isnt going to be renewed after June ...... major downer!!! I am NOT going back to the classroom! so I really need to get something organised over the next couple of months ...all suggestions welcome :)
I guess that's about it at the moment. I apologise for my repetitive slideshow, I really need to upload some more layouts in the near future. That's a great rainy day job , scan...resize...upload...add to slideshow .... you know how it goes. Pity we dont have many rainy days though.
cheers all

Well here we are, well and truly in 2009 and this is my first post for the year! How slack is that? Life has been pretty full on this year. DS3 moved out, and I really miss his help with the younger two. It seems so quiet around here with just the four of us in the house. Why is it that by the time we can afford a big house - the older 3 have moved out! We actually have two empty bedrooms ! though I do plan to rearrange things eventually.
Scrapping took a bit of a rest over Christmas as my right arm has some nerve damage that makes it difficult to use for long periods of time, and it really needed a rest. I actually went to a crop and made coffee and read magazines all night !!! It was that bad :( Hopefully a visit to the neurosurgeon this week will see some improvement soon.
Work is busy, the boys love yr 3, DS2 is now 2IC at the bakery, DS1 is writing the last chapter of his novel and DH is still flying around the state - so yeah life is pretty normal as it ever will be.
I will try and upload some new LO's soon. I havent put any of my 2009 efforts up here as yet.
cheers

Yes I know it's been ages ....
Life just seems to get away from me at the moment. I am actually trying to spend less time on the computer and more time scrapping - and basically it is working (as you can see from my updated slideshow). Our 'roadtrip' down south went fantastic!! The Great Ocean Road is just amazing! Australia does have some absolutely beautiful scenery that's for sure. The boys learnt so much about Aust history on our trip. Soveriegn Hill, Eureka Stockade, Ned Kelly, just to name a few. We did Melbourne and Canberra, visit grandparents in Sydney and Coffs Harbour and came home slightly exhausted. I now have the challenge of choosing which of the 800 photos I took will actually be scrapped! This could be a very lengthy process.
well cheers all,
keep well,

Holiday countdown ....
Only 4 more sleeps and we head of down South for our mega-roadtrip!! DS4 & 5 are soooo excited, though I think that has something to do with the fact that they get to leave school early on Friday. The plan is to head up to Twmba and drop the dogs off at DS2's place then head south/west till we hit water - the ocean that is! Hoping to get to the Great Ocean Road early in the second week of the hols (I think, I must admit I didnt really listen to DH when he was reading the planned itinerary to me of his laptop).
Other things happening at the moment, we head parent/teacher interviews tonight for DS4 & 5 and while there were no mega surprises I feel a bit berated by one of the teacher's for allowing the boys speech problems to go unaided this year. DH and I decided to give them a break from the 'speechy' and let them do swimming lessons after school instead, now I am feeling very 'blamed' by the teacher that one of them in particular has speech issues that are affecting his spelling and reading. Bad mummy!! You would think that experience would count for something! Was I so condescending when I had no childrem - god I hope not!
OH well, roll on holidays, next term is a new start ... I suppose I need to commit more time with the guys and sit and read and stuff, it's just so difficult with working and stuff - but thats a choice I made,
Anyway ...cheers

Fungi Identified .... mystery solved.
I have had a response from the Qld museum and the FungiMap group in Victoria and this is the result. "This is a fungus called Ileodictyon gracile. When it expands out of the 'egg', there is an olive-brown slime on the inside of the arms. The slime carries the spores and it is smelly - a strategy to attract insects which then spread the spores." It just goes to prove that when you think you have seen it all nature is always surprising us!!!
